Niall Kiely

BA applied psychology

Niall Kiely specialises in communications skills training, with particular focus on key areas of business writing, including report and speech-writing. A senior trainer and facilitator, he also delivers management development courses, covering a range of management issues, such as time management and personal effectiveness, and works in the performance management areas with clients in the private and public sectors. He is also an experienced coach in preparing people for both sides of the interview process.

Recent clients have included the Revenue Commissioners, the Central Statistics Office, Bord Gais, the NI Civil Service and a variety of semistate and departmental organisations.

Before joining Carr Communications, he spent 30 years in national journalism, mainly with The Irish Times where he was variously news editor, editorial administration editor and Readers’ Representative. He also worked in public information for the UN in the Middle East, based in Beirut for three years in the late 1980s. He presents It Says In The Papers on RTE Radio One.
