PR 2.0

The world has changed. Completely. And it won’t be changing back.

We had almost become blasé about change and the pace of change. And then, in the last few years, it surprised us and took off at ever more dizzying speeds. In one year alone, banks collapsed, economies collapsed, systemic failure became common – in politics, in finance, religion, national government, the sciences and the climate change debate.

Internet use grew at Mach speed. You may already be blogging and tweeting. Or you may like others, be trying to assess the value of new media, of using professional networking sites, or using digital advertising instead of traditional ads.

There are now more ways of communicating than most of us can keep up with. And as with all change, things won’t be changing back.

But what hasn’t changed is what you need to do. You need to get your message across to your audiences. You can now do it faster, in more ways, more easily, and more effectively. You can change and update your message in an hour rather than the week or month it might have taken to print a new brochure.

And while the jury might be out on which pieces of the digital landscape are more or less effective, the fact is that new media and new approaches are here to stay.

Your audience will go looking for information about you, your product, your service, your market, your competitors. Whatever options you choose, you cannot ignore media. It has to form a part of your communications strategy.

You have seen how it works. In this evolving landscape you can be carried on a wave of positive attention brought about by the formation of a network of advocates hailing your product, service or character. You can find yourself experiencing a Susan Boyle style meteoric rise from obscurity through word of mouth distribution of a positive message or sentiment.

Just as easily, you can suffer reputation damage because you’re unaware of a discussion taking place online. And if you were aware that the discussion was happening, you could at least put across your side of the story. So how can we help?

We are experts in communication. We understand human behaviour. And we understand the new medium.

We know what channels, online spaces, triggers and distribution methods work for different types of messages and their intended audiences.

We understand how online engagement can work within a wider context of strategic communication. We can help you communicate with your audience simply, understandably, memorably, and cost-effectively using new media.
