Senior Account Executive
Danny has been a Senior Account Executive with PR Division at Carr Communications since August 2016. He holds a degree in English and Social/Political Science (BA) from Maynooth University. He is also a qualified English Teacher for Foreign Speaking Adults having completed the University of Cambridge CELTA course. Danny has a varied background which gives him a unique insight and skill set which he offers to Carr Communications’ clients. He has a particular interest in media relations, internal communications and event management.
On a day-to-day basis Danny assists key clients with media relations, delivery of communications campaigns, public affairs, event management and media monitoring. Prior to joining Carr Communications, Danny worked in politics and public affairs for five years. Working as Parliamentary Assistant for a Government and opposition TD in Dáil Éireann, Danny’s role centred on public relations management, event management, communication management and media relations. He was also responsible for advising the Member of Parliament on legislative voting options and making amendments to legislation.
Danny has gained public relations skills throughout his career to date. Working in Leinster House he was responsible for the running of a Parliamentary Office, managing correspondence received to the office. Daily speech writing, press statements and drafting bills have deepened his knowledge of how Parliament works. Danny’s work on political campaigns mean he has first-hand experience in targeted PR campaigns and media management.
When Danny isn’t working he enjoys sport, socialising and music. He is from Cavan though, so his successful sporting outings for his home county have been limited over the last 19 years.
