Part-time Social Media Executive

Carr Communications is looking for an experienced Social Media Executive to join its European Projects team on a part time basis. The ideal candidate will be creative, organised and hardworking and have a qualification in Social Media / Digital Marketing / Communications / European Studies, with at least one year’s work experience in a relevant setting. The candidate must demonstrate experience of the value social media brings to business, along with examples of their work. We’re looking for a fast learner with meticulous attention to detail and excellent communication skills. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious team player with a strong interest in social media, communications and European Affairs.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Research and develop content schedules across a variety of channels
  • Research and develop engagement strategies with key influencers to maximise impact
  • Support senior team members across EU projects
  • Analyse success of social media campaigns and online communications
  • Research, write and distribute communications materials, including newsletters
  • Develop and maintain relationships with project partners
  • Attend client meetings and prepare reports
  • Monitor media coverage and policy developments
  • Update databases and conduct desk research
  • Administrative tasks

The person we’re looking for will have:

  • Strong knowledge and experience of social media and online communications
  • Ability to engage online audiences and grow followings
  • Experience developing content for Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in tools such as WordPress and Mailchimp
  • Track record developing and delivering successful social media campaigns
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Effective time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Interest in, and understanding of European issues
  • Graphic design and/or video production skills would be beneficial
  • Some EU travel may be required
